Ashley Nupp, LMHC

Ashley (LMHC, MS), earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Iowa and her Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Drake University.  She also has a Master's in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and has experience working with individuals with disabilities to find and maintain gainful employment. While working towards her Master's, Ashley provided Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) to assist children and their families gain skills to manage and improve their mental health and functioning.  

Ashley utilizes a person-centered approach with all her clients, and she is particularly passionate about assisting clients in finding and addressing root causes of present-day symptoms and relationship cycles. She has experience using mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other techniques to help transform traumatic experiences into strength and confidence. 

Ashley has completed specific training and clinical supervision in Humanistic Therapy for Attachment Wounds, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems. She is  LGBTQ+ allied and provides gender-affirming care to trans and non-binary individuals and their families, assisting with gender exploration and medical, social and legal transition. Additionally, she has training and experience working with couples using Emotionally Focused Couples' Therapy, and her experience includes monogamous, polyamorous and mixed-orientation relationships.  

Outside of work, Ashley loves to spend time with her family and two cats, Leroy and Franklin.
