Joby Holcomb, LMHC, CADC

Joby Holcomb, LMHC, CADC (he/him) is a trauma-informed mental health clinician and co-founder of Foundations Therapy and Consulting, LLC. He integrates EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grounded in a person-centered approach. Joby specializes in treating substance misuse disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and supporting LGBTQ+ clients navigating gender identity, gender dysphoria, and complex trauma.

Joby earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Graceland University and his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Drake University. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), with clinical experience spanning inpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs, PMIC residential care, correctional mental health, and private practice settings.

Joby’s commitment to advocacy is reflected in his service on multiple boards and coalitions, including the Child Abuse Prevention Council, One Iowa, the LGBTQ Advisory Council for the Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Coalition, and the advisory board for New Beginnings Counseling Service.
